Edward Daniel meets Jay Wilde, Former Dairy Farmer
Here is the story of Jay Wilde, a vegetarian farmer who last year gave his stock of 59 cows to an animal sanctuary to avoid the abattoir.
“Cows have good memories and a range of emotions. They form relationships. I’ve even seen them cry.”
“I’m relieved to have made the decision to no longer farm animals, something which I always found quite upsetting,” Mr Wilde said.
These cattle can now enjoy their full 25-year lifespan rather than reaching the age of two to three years when they would have been slaughtered.
Have a listen to Jay’s story. Jay’s farm, Bradley Nook Farm, is located in Ashbourne, Deryshire.
The Vegan Society organised the donation to the sanctuary.
